Before and after: PAGE PROCESS

Palle Schmidt says:

I always start out with a rough layout of what the page will look like. I do that on A4 format paper, since that’s the standard where I am. I do it with a blue pencil so I can easily sketch on top of it later. This is a rough page from issue #2:

I “ink” my final sketch on the lightbox and it ends up looking something like this:

Then I add a wash with black/grey watercolor, really painting the art:
